Sheida Badiee
Sheida (pronounced “shay-da”) is endorsed by the Australian Health Practitioners Agency (AHPRA) in Counselling Psychology and a Board-Approved Supervisor. She obtained her qualifications in Dublin, Ireland (BA, Honours) and in Melbourne, Victoria (MA of Psychology) and has over 12 years of experience in the profession in Australia.
She works with adolescents age 13+ and adults on a broad range of human conditions such as:
- Stress (general life or specific e.g. study/ work/ decisions)
- Mood difficulties, including depression and different types of anxiety
- Relationship concerns (family/ peers/ intimate partner/ other)
- Recovery from trauma and traumatic experiences
- Adjustment and life-transitions, including cultural issues, loss, and grief
- Body image and eating problems
- Personal development like self-esteem and confidence building
Sheida employs a mix of evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to the person and issue. These include Mindfulness and Interpersonal Neurobiology, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical and Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy.
